About Slay Lake City

Slay Lake City is an adult version of our youth summer camp. Slay Lake City exists to help us build our Rock Camp SLC community by finding new volunteers to help with our youth camps and raise money to help run our programs. We are dedicated to empowering marginalized genders from all backgrounds through music education, collaboration, and performance.

Applying to Slay Lake City is a 3-part process

Part 1: Fill out this application completely before Sunday, October 22nd at midnight.

Part 2: We will review all the applications as we get them and send you an email letting you know if you have been selected to join us. Campers will be sent an invoice through PayPal. You can pay the full amount all at once or you can make payments through December 26th. 

Part 3: All participants will be sent a link to fill out our acceptance packet digitally - this form includes emergency contact information, code of conduct, release of liability, media release, and freedom of artistic expression policies that require digital signatures. We will continue to send emails with updates and more detailed information as camp gets closer.

General Daily Schedule:

Camp Setup Day (Volunteers, Campers, and Allies who are able to help) 

East Hollywood High School

Sunday, December 22nd 10:00am - 4:00pm - set up instruments, band rooms, and decorate


Camp Day 1 - Thursday, December 26th

East Hollywood High School

10am to 6:30pm - morning assembly, band formation, ice breakers, instrument instruction, workshops, lunch, loud and quiet band practices, closing assembly

Camp Day 2 - Friday, December 27th

East Hollywood High School

10am to 6:30pm - morning assembly, instrument instruction, workshops, lunch,  loud and quiet band practices, closing assembly

Camp Day 3 - Saturday, December 28th

East Hollywood High School

10am to 6:00pm - morning assembly, instrument instruction, workshops, lunch,  loud and quiet band practices, closing assembly

Camp Clean Up (Volunteers and Campers and Allies who are able to help) 

East Hollywood High School

Saturday, December 28th 6pm - 8pm - pack up gear and return it to the storage room at the school

Showcase (Open to public, all ages, free, fundraiser)

Sunday, December 29th - 11am - 12pm - meet at school and transport gear to showcase (volunteers)

12pm - 2pm - stage setup and decorate venue (volunteers)

3:00pm - Doors Open (campers arrive)

4:00pm - Showcase

5:30pm - Load out showcase (volunteers)

6:30pm - 8:00pm - Return showcase gear to school (volunteers)
