WHAT

Rock Camp Slay @ Home - an online camp for those who are quarantining together during the Coronavirus pandemic! You will form a band with those in your quarantine "bubble", learn how to play your instruments online, write an original song, attend empowering digital workshops, and record a video of your song to be played at #GenderChillFest - our online showcase on Friday, February 26th. Each band will raise money for Rock Camp SLC youth programming!

WHO

This is our first program to combine youth and adults into bands and our first to allow cisgender men to participate in bands in a supporting role! You can apply as a band with those in your "bubble" or sign up to do a solo project. If you are quarantining alone and would like to find others who may be safe to collaborate with, please email info@rockcampslc.org and we will try to connect you.

Rock Camp SLC is dedicated to empowering girls, transgender, and gender-expansive youth from all backgrounds through music education, collaboration, and performance. This program is a fundraiser for our summer youth programs.

WHEN

Rock Camp Slay @ Home will take place from Sunday, January 10th through Friday, February 26th on Zoom and in your own garages or band rooms at home. If your band needs to borrow instruments or other gear, Rock Camp SLC will do our best to provide you with what you need!

Please plan to follow the daily schedule in order to support the efforts of the volunteer staff and your band. If you cannot commit to attending most of these sessions, please leave space for someone who can. All instrument lessons and meetups will be recorded and available if you have to miss a session. See detailed schedule here.

COST

Rock Camp Slay @ Home tuition is pay what you are able - this can be as little as $1 per band member. Each band will have a goal to raise $250 for Rock Camp SLC - that is enough to sponsor one camper for our in-person summer camps! Fundraising will begin as soon as your band is formed and culminate at the #GenderChillFest Online Showcase on February 26th. We will be using our text to donate platform and all you have to do is encourage your fans to text your band name to 44-321 to donate. The band who raises the most money will all receive Rock Camp SLC Limited Edition hoodies and the title of #GenderChillFest Champions!
